Presently, project ECOSALT implies an evaluation of environmental burdens associated with salt products and production activities by identifying and quantifying energy and materials used and wastes released to the environment. It also assesses the potential impact of the energy and material flows on the environment, and identifies and evaluates opportunities for environmental improvements. But, the future implies also continuing the initialized project by pursuing and aiming several goals:

  • compare product and packaging in terms of environmental profile;
  • identify environmental improvements and waste minimization possibilities as part of R&D;
  • understand the product and identify potential vulnerabilities upfront;
  • position products as eco-friendly products.
ECOSALT pretend to grow and welcome all solar salt producers to be part of it.

In general terms, our perspective is to align business with some major driving-forces related with sustainability: public education, environmental protection, economic development and social responsibility.
